About us

Winchmore Tutors is a Ltd company which was formed to provide experienced professional private tutors to students in and around London. Winchmore Tutors address the issues that parents may have with other agencies:

  • Student safety - Winchmore Tutors perform rigorous checks on tutors including an enhanced CRB check.
  • Tutors with little or no experience - We only recruit experienced teachers or tutors. We check all references and teaching qualifications.
  • Tutors with a bad command of English - We conduct face to face interviews before recruiting new tutors. This allows us to assess a tutors communication skills. Most tutorial agencies allow tutors to sign up by just sending in a form.
  • Private tutoring is costly - Our rates are reasonable we can offer discounts for block bookings, and also discounts on lessons with 2 or more students.
  • Unprofessional tutors - Winchmore tutors monitor their tutors conduct closely. This includes monitoring timesheets for lateness or any cancelled lessons, and also requesting feedback from clients. We also ask all tutors to attend a training session.


How we can help

We can provide 1 to 1 tuition, group tuition and Saturday clubs.

Winchmore tutors prides itself on exam practice and practice questions. We do not believe reading through large passages of text is good way to learn and and do well in exams.

 

What makes us different

Winchmore tutors does not charge any finders fees, registration fee or additional costs. Travel fees are factored into the hourly fee quoted to you.

We focus on understanding and above all positive results. We help students to achieve the best results possible.

Who we work with

Private Students who can benefit from private tutoring include:

Struggling students : Students are struggling with homework, exams, or coursework can benefit greatly from private attention.

Borderline students : Students who need aren't being pushed to their full potential at school. Tutoring can provide that extra push that can make an average student an excellent one.

Excelling Students : Some students may be at the maximum level that can do at school. Tutoring can allow students to work at a higher level and even enter additional private exams. We can also provide help for 'Oxbridge' exams.

Local Authorities

We currently provide tutors to Local Authorities in the London area in both the 'Making good progress' one-to-one tuition scheme and provide tutors for looked after children. Winchmore Tutors currently provide tutors to 8 local authorities so we have built a book of public sector experienced tutors.

We can offer local authorities top quality professional reliable tutors. We know our tutors personally and can have systems in place to ensure timeliness and reliability.

Our qualified tutors have qualified teacher status, or are overseas trained teachers who are qualified to work in the England.

We offer teachers who are making the jump to tutoring training in structuring one-on-one lessons, addressing misconceptions, solving problems, Individual tuition plans and sample lessons, application and review.
